Iraola addressed rumors that he might replace Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, who has faced criticism for his team's poor performance despite significant spending in the summer transfer window. Iraola stated that he is happy with his current position and has a good relationship with the team's owner and other staff members.
"I am very happy here," Iraola said. "We have a good relationship with the owner and Simon (Francis) and with Tiago (Pinto), and we will speak when there is something to announce. We are not going to discuss these things here."
Iraola also discussed his team's performance, saying that it's too early to look at the league table and that he's focused on being competitive. He's pleased with the team's current level of competitiveness, but acknowledges that small margins can make a big difference in the outcome of games.
"It's about being competitive," Iraola said. "I am happy because we are being competitive; some games, we are playing better, in other games not as good, but I think we are being competitive. I want to keep this level the whole season if we can, but it's about small margins. All the games have been very levelled. I expect the same tomorrow."
When asked about Fulham's performance at home and away, Iraola said that they are a consistent team who play well in both settings. He noted that they have lost six of their last nine away games, but also pointed out that they have been competitive in their away matches.
"This is more of the same," Iraola said. "It's too early. It's three games away, three games at home, you know. Yeah, you can see some tendencies, but I think they play very well at home and away. They even the other day, the best example, Villa away, probably the first 30, 35 minutes they were winning 1-0. But they should be winning maybe more clearly because they played with a lot of personality, playing really well."
Iraola also discussed the team's training sessions, saying that they don't use music or crowd noise to prepare for games. He mentioned that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has used music to prepare his team, but Iraola hasn't tried it himself.
"No, I've seen Mikel do it now in the commentary and this," Iraola said. "No, I haven't had. I've had yes special coaches but no things like this I don't remember."
