Liverpool is hesitant to meet Bayer's asking price and is counting on Wirtz to help negotiate a better deal. Wirtz has expressed a preference for joining Liverpool, but Real Madrid is also emerging as a potential competitor in the transfer negotiations.
This offer surpasses the previous British record transfer fee of £107 million, which was set by Chelsea when they signed Moises Caicedo two years ago.
