Maresca also discussed the fitness of midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who is working to regain full fitness after a recent setback.

"Enzo took part in the session yesterday, and we have one more session planned for today. We will reassess his condition tomorrow and decide on the next steps," Maresca said.

Maresca also addressed the suspension of forward Joao Pedro and expressed confidence in the abilities of Marc Guiu, who is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

"We trust Marc. We gave him opportunities last year in the Conference League, and he performed well. We're confident he'll do the same in the Premier League," Maresca stated.

Maresca also provided an update on the recovery of striker Liam Delap, who is set to return to the team later this year after a long-term hamstring injury.

"Liam is close to returning. He's not yet working with us, but we're hopeful he can start taking sessions with us in the next few days," Maresca said.

"We need to do better in terms of discipline. Some red cards could have been avoided, and we're working on improving our players' understanding of the game and their behavior," Maresca stated.

Maresca emphasized that he prefers to help his players understand and improve rather than punishing them for their mistakes.

"I'm not a manager who punishes players. I believe in helping them understand and then doing the right thing," Maresca said.
