Chelsea is set to sign Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg in the summer of 2024 as part of an agreed deal. The Dutch international will join the club on a seven-year contract, replacing Liam Delap. Emegha has been a key player for Strasbourg in Ligue 1, scoring four goals and providing two assists this season. However, it's unlikely he will join Chelsea early, despite rumors suggesting otherwise. According to reports, Chelsea is not planning to bring Emegha to the club before the summer transfer window opens. This is despite Liam Delap's shoulder injury, which has already caused him to miss a significant portion of the season and may result in another extended absence. Chelsea has sufficient squad depth to cover Delap's absence, with players like Pedro Neto, Marc Guiu, and Tyrique George available to fill in.

As a result, Emegha will continue to play for Strasbourg, where the team is competing for a spot in European competition. This allows Emegha to continue developing his skills and contributing to Strasbourg's success without being rushed to join Chelsea prematurely.
