Claudio Pasqualin, who previously represented Del Piero, recalled that Manchester United and Barcelona showed interest in signing the player during his peak years.
Pasqualin stated that Manchester United's interest was led by then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who admired Del Piero but ultimately prioritized keeping him at Juventus.
In order to retain Del Piero, Pasqualin and his team focused on negotiating a contract extension with the player, which ultimately limited discussions with other top clubs.
Pasqualin also joked about interactions with Dr. Umberto Agnelli, who expressed skepticism about the amount of money Ferguson was willing to pay Del Piero.
Pasqualin added that the deadline for contract negotiations contributed to Juventus' ability to secure a favorable deal for Del Piero, given the high demand for the player from other European clubs.
