Chivu met with Inter's president, Beppe Marotta, and the team's directors recently. This marks a return to coaching for Chivu, who previously worked as a Primavera trainer at Inter for several seasons.
Chivu's contract with Parma is set to expire at the end of the month, but Inter wants to finalize the appointment quickly so he can take charge of the team for their upcoming Club World Cup campaign.
Inter and Parma are in talks to secure Chivu's release from his current contract, which would allow him to join Inter.
It is reported that Chivu and Marotta have agreed to a contract until 2027.
