De Ligt acknowledges that his side was not good enough in their latest match and believes that any team that underperforms will struggle in the competitive English top flight.
"We conceded one goal and didn't create many chances. I think overall it was a really poor performance," De Ligt said.
"The Premier League is a challenging league, and teams need to be efficient to win games. We lacked that efficiency and urgency to score goals," he added.
De Ligt emphasizes the importance of his team regrouping and grabbing a result away from home in their upcoming match against Crystal Palace.
"The next game is crucial now. We need to bounce back from this performance and stay together as a team," he said.
"We need to make it clear what needs to improve because today's performance was not good enough," De Ligt concluded.
