Wenger suggested that both Tottenham and Manchester United do not deserve a spot in the Champions League next season due to their participation in the Europa League competition.
However, Postecoglou expressed surprise at Wenger's comments, stating that this is not a new issue, but rather a common reaction from others when discussing Tottenham.
"Well, it seems that Tottenham has a way of sparking debates and controversy," Postecoglou said. "I've seen this happen before, and it's not the first time people try to diminish our achievements."
Postecoglou questioned the logic behind Wenger's comments, pointing out that the rules of the competition are clear and that Tottenham's participation in the Europa League is not a reason to deny them a spot in the Champions League.
"I don't understand what the difference is," Postecoglou said. "Last year, finishing fifth wasn't enough to qualify for the Champions League, but now it is. What does that mean?"
Despite his disagreement with Wenger's comments, Postecoglou expressed his respect for the former Arsenal manager, who is widely regarded as one of the legends of the game.
