Isak scored a goal for Newcastle United in their EFL Cup win, ending their 70-year wait for a trophy.
The conversation between Van Dijk and Isak happened after the final whistle, but six months later, Van Dijk still won't reveal what was said.
"I'm not telling you!" Van Dijk laughed. "Maybe in a few years, I'll share it. But not now. I don't remember it clearly."
Van Dijk also expressed relief that the transfer negotiations are over and Isak is now a part of the team.
"It was a difficult time," Van Dijk said. "When negotiations drag on, it's never easy. There are many things going on behind the scenes."
"Not just me, but the whole team and everyone connected to the club were happy that the deal got done. Now he's here, he's part of the family."
Van Dijk hopes Isak will settle in quickly and make a positive impact on the team.
Isak became the British transfer record holder when he joined Liverpool on deadline day and is waiting to make his debut.
