When asked if this performance was why Arsenal signed Eze, Arteta said, "Yes, 100%. The way he struck the ball was similar to his goal against us last season, and it was impressive given the defensive team Palace had.

"To score against a team that defends so physically and doesn't give up much space, Eze needed to create chaos and find an opening, which he did incredibly well.

Arteta noted that Eze seemed relaxed before the game and was eager to play.

He also acknowledged that Eze may have had a personal motivation to perform well, given his past connection to Palace.

Arteta said, "It's not always easy to play against your old team, but that's what big players do, and Eze is certainly a big player."
