Laporta revealed that the club was in the middle of negotiations with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford when Nico Williams' agent approached them with the possibility of signing the winger. The club's sports director, Deco, advised Laporta to listen to the proposal, as he had prioritized signing Luis Diaz or Rashford at the time.
However, Laporta explained that there were significant differences between the original proposal and the actual terms of the deal. These differences included payment terms and the agent's commission, among other variables.
As a result, the club set a 48-hour deadline for the negotiations to be completed. Unfortunately, the deal ultimately fell through.
