Makelele has been watching Caicedo's development closely and is impressed with the young player's growth. "I've seen them progress a lot and I'm proud of this club," Makelele said.
He noted that Caicedo, along with other young midfielders like Romeo Lavia, have a lot of talent and potential. "I think he has a lot of talent," Makelele said. "Moi is humble, he plays with a smile and works hard for his teammates."
Makelele appreciates Caicedo's individuality and desire to forge his own path. "When he started at Chelsea, we talked together, and he was happy to come to Chelsea for his own story," Makelele said. "He didn't want to be compared to me, he wanted to do the 'Caicedo role'."
Makelele believes that it's essential for young players to find their own identity and create their own story, rather than trying to emulate others. "I prefer they do their own thing, write their own story, become their own 'galactico'," he said.
