He has not made these payments since March of last year, resulting in a debt of around £14,000 to his ex-wife Valerie Bishop.

Diouf failed to appear at a recent court hearing, and under Senegalese law, he could be found guilty of refusal to pay maintenance and face jail time.

Diouf's lawyer, Mame Adama Gueye, stated that Diouf has the means to pay the child support, but has chosen not to do so.

Diouf played for Liverpool from 2000 to 2005, winning the League Cup in 2003. During his time at the club, he scored six goals in 80 games.
