Ibrahima Konate is set to join Real Madrid after the World Cup. The 27-year-old defender will earn approximately £400,000 per week and receive a £17.3m signing-on bonus for agreeing to join the Spanish team. Konate has signed a four-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he will work under new manager Jose Mourinho. He will become an instrumental figure alongside former Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold. Konate is considered one of Europe's top defenders, and his move to Real Madrid will bring significant experience and skill to the team. He will join four other French players at Real, including Kylian Mbappe, Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy.

France will be competing in the World Cup, where Konate will hope to play a starring role. The team won the tournament for the second time in 2018 but lost to Argentina on penalties in 2022.

Konate's transfer to Real Madrid is reportedly finalised, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins. Everything is in place for the defender to join the team after the World Cup.
