Real Madrid had been linked to another Manchester City player, Rodri, with presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme promising his arrival if he won the election.

However, with Florentino Perez remaining as president, the club is now unlikely to pursue a deal for Rodri after securing an agreement with Silva.

It's now up to Rodri to decide whether he signs a new contract with Manchester City or leaves on a free transfer in 2027.
