In an interview, Pato explained that he made the decision to prioritize his family after his wife gave birth to their son. He said, "When my son was born, I wanted to be with my wife all the time. I didn't want to miss a single moment with him."

Pato, who is now 35 years old, also shared that he hasn't had the desire to play football for a while. He said, "I played my last match almost two years ago, and I don't have much desire to play anymore. My family comes first."

When asked about his future, Pato mentioned that he might consider becoming a coach or even a club owner. He said, "I've gained a lot of experience in my career, and I can share that with the players. I'd like to do that."
