Riemer will select the Danish national team squad for upcoming matches against Scotland and Greece on Monday. However, he won't reveal if Eriksen will be part of the team.
Riemer admits that Eriksen's situation is less than ideal. With over 140 international caps, Eriksen has been a valuable player for Denmark for many years. Riemer is working hard to prepare the team for World Cup qualifiers in September.
"It's a big problem for Christian and for us that a player with so much experience is in this situation," Riemer says. "It's not ideal for us either."
Eriksen hasn't trained with a club or played matches since parting ways with Manchester United in June. Riemer acknowledges that this is a challenge for the team.
The Danish national team will gather in Helsingor on 1 September and face Scotland in Copenhagen four days later. They will then play Greece away on 8 September.
